Day 1: Pick up from the airport (optional).

Day 2: Bucharest – Cheia – hiking in Ciucas Mountains
Early start from Bucharest and drive to Ciucas Mountains, part of the Carpathians. This is a full day of beautiful hiking on forest trails and mountain ridges.

Day 3: Cheia – hiking in Ciucas Mountains – Magura village
We start the day with a delicious breakfast. Later, we go for another hike and we aim for the highest peak in these mountains, Ciucas Peak (1954 m). Don’t forget your camera, the views will be breathtaking! In the late afternoon you will be transferred to Magura village.

Day 4: Magura village – hiking in Piatra Craiului national park
A hike in the beautiful Piatra Craiului national park is not to be missed. Today we’ll explore beautiful trails, go through a gorge and make a stop at a charming mountain hut.

Day 5: Magura – Bran area (visit Bran castle) – hiking in Moeciu area – Sibiel
Today we say Goodbye to the quiet Magura village and we move to Bran and Moeciu area. Benefiting from beautiful, rural landscapes, these areas are perfect for day hikes. The first stop is the famous Bran castle, followed by a hike on the rolling hills.
Later in the afternoon we drive to Sibiel.

Day 6: Sibiel – hiking at Balea Lake – Carta monastery visit – Sibiel
The breakfast at Maria’s is plentiful and delicious; after such a breakfast some hiking is required thus you will be transferred to Balea Lake, on the Transfagarasan, for some spectacular hiking. After the hike we will visit the Cistercian abbey at Carta.

Day 7: Sibiel – Sibiu visit and shopping – day at your leisure
This is a chill out day, in Sibiu. Sibiu, former capital of Transylvania, is a mixture of old and new: beautiful architecture, museums, concert venues, charming squares. After your tour in the old part of the city you will have time for shopping and downtime.

Day 8: Sibiel – Geoagiu – Ramet circuit
We leave Sibiel and head to Geoagiu village, in Trascau Mountains. Todays’s menu is: hiking in Ramet area, charming and rural landscapes, a visit at the local pub at the end of the tour. What do you think?

Day 9: Geoagiu – Ighiel lake and Ciumerna plateau – Geoagiu
We like it off the beaten path. Today we will do a hike to Ighiel Lake and the beautiful Ciumerna area.

Day 10: Geoagiu – Rametea hiking – Salciua
Active day in the beautiful Hungarian village, Rametea, part of the UNESCO heritage. We will also visit the ethnographic museum and pay a visit to the local pub (that’s where the gossip is). Drive to Salciua in the late afternoon/evening.

Day 11: Salciua – Scarisoara ice cave – Dumesti and Geamana Lake
Today’s highlights include the Scarisoara glacier in Apuseni Mountains, Dumesti area (great for photography) and the hidden gem at Geamana.

Day 12: Salciua – drive to Bucharest.
Transfer to the airport or accommodation in Bucharest.
