Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest and pick up from the airport. Transfer to a 4 star hotel.

Day 2: Bucharest city tour
The city tour will will encompass the main attractions in the city: The House of the Parliament, Cotroceni Museum, The Village Museum, The Arch of Triumph.

Day 3: Bucharest – Peles – Bran – Pestera village – Brasov
Today you will discover the stories behind two of Romania’s beautiful castles, Peles and Bran.
While Peles used to be the royal residence of King Carol the I st, Bran was initially a fortress meant to defend the area agains the turks. Later on you will enjoy an easy hike in a beautiful mountain village, Pestera. Transfer to Brasov in the evening.

Day 4: Brasov city tour – Viscri – Sighisoara
Brasov is a city on everybody’s lips. Located near the mountains, with an old charm and a rich history, is definitely a city that one must visit. Later in the afternoon you will be transferred to Viscri, a small Transylvanian village; here you will visit the old fortress and have a traditional lunch at Eugene’s.
After the visit in Viscri we will drive to Sighisoara, a beautiful medieval town.

Day 5: Sighisoara city tour – Biertan fortified church – Sibiel – Sibiu
Sighisoara is a charming little town. The old part of the city is UNESCO heritage and one can see why: the cobblestone streets, the Clock Tower and the Dominican church are just a few examples of a well preserved medieval town.
After Sighisoara we will make a stop in Biertan to visit the fortified saxon church. For lunch we will stop in Sibiel village at Maria’s place; get ready for a traditional Romanian cuisine experience. In the evening we will arrive in Sibiu.

Day 6: Sibiu – Corvin Castle – Densus church – Sibiu
The day starts with a city tour in Sibiu, in the old part of town. Highlights include the Liar’s bridge, Brukenthal Museum, The Council Tower. After the city tour you will be transferred to Corvin Castle, an impressive piece of architecture accompanied by an interesting story. Densus church is also interesting and it is only a 45 minutes drive from Corvin Castle. Return to Sibiu in the evening.

Day 7: Sibiu – Alba Iulia fortress – Turda salt mine – Rametea – Sibiu
For today we prepared a mix of things: a visit at Alba Iulia fortress (built by the Habsburg empire), a visit in Turda salt mine (looks very SF) and a walk in Rametea village (an oasis of Hungarian heritage, part of the UNESCO heritage).

Day 8: Sibiu city tour – Transfagarasan (if open at the time of your visit) – Bucharest. Transfer to the airport (optional).
