You need to know:
Cerna Valley is a beautiful and wild place. Most of the trails in the forest are well maintained and are medium – difficult level in some places (that means you have to be able to climb roughly 1000 m in a day, and be in a good physical shape).

Day 2: Timisoara – Bigar Waterfall – Rudaria – Baile Herculane – Cerna Valley
Today we will depart to Cerna Valley but we will make a few interesting and beautiful stops. First, we will visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe, called Bigar. Then, we will take a step back in time as we visit the old water mills (still functional!) from Rudarita. The day continues with a beautiful drive to Baile Herculane, an old and famous spa resort, from the times of the Austrian – Hungarian Empire. In the afternoon we will stop in Cerna Valley.

Day 3: Hiking in Cerna Mountains – Inelet and Scarisoara hamlets
Time to explore the beautiful Cerna Mountains. We will enjoy a circular hike in two of the most beautiful hamlets in this area, Inelet and Scarisoara. Hard to believe but the people who live here built a wooden staircase to help them cross from one hamlet to the next. And this is a quick access to get to the church as well; just wait and see.
From the church in Inelet the hike continues on a beautiful trail, showing us the beauty of Mehedinti Mountains (opposite from Cerna). Shortly, we will make a turn and start descending down to the main road and then we will go back to the car.
Accommodation in Baile Herculane.
Day 4: Cerna Valley – Dubova
Today we will explore Dubova and Orsova area, where the Danube flows. We will start with a short hike up on Ciucaru Mare Peak, from where we will see the Danube in all its splendour and then enjoy a ride on the boat in the beautiful Boilers area. Back to Cerna Valley in the evening.

Day 5: Cerna Valley – hiking in Cerna Mountains in Dobraia and Prisacina hamlets
We will spend another great day in Cerna Mountains, this time exploring Dobraia and Prisacina hamlets. This is a 6 h hike that will take you through some beautiful forests, orchards, and will reveal stunning views of Arjana Peak (the highest in Cerna Mountains). Return to Cerna Valley in the late afternoon. You will have the rest of the day at your leisure.
